Role Summary/Purpose

The Turbine Technician will perform operations necessary for the assembly, disassembly, testing, preparation, or de-preparation of LM6000, LM2500, and LMS100 gas turbine engines, modules, components, or accessories, following technical specifications and standard work practices.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Perform routing of engine hardware, assemblies, and other materials, adhering to handling and storage procedures.
2. Conduct comprehensive inspections of gas turbine engines, components, and hardware for serviceability per technical specifications and quality criteria.
3. Report and record discrepancies referencing service manuals.
4. Maintain records and proper documentation for turbine assembly, disassembly, or repairs in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
5. Troubleshoot in-process problems, malfunctions, or component failures.
6. Use precision measuring instruments, hand and power tools, shop equipment, and machinery as assigned.
7. Uphold safety requirements and maintain a clean, FOD-free workspace.
8. Support continuous improvement projects individually and in teams.
9. Work hours as needed to meet production and customer needs.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by Operations leadership.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working on Gas Turbine or Aircraft Engine Services, or 1-year experience as a Turbine Technician at the Jport facility.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Ability and willingness to lift 40 lbs.

Shift Time

2:00 pm - 10:30 pm.

Desired Characteristics

• Ability to interpret service repair manuals and technical publications.
• Knowledge of various hand tools and precision instrumentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with different engine types and gas turbine product lines.
• Experience with LM2500, LM6000, LMS100, or other aero-derivative gas turbines.
• Borescope inspection experience.
• Familiarity with static & dynamic balancing procedures.
• Knowledge of FOD/DOD prevention and control.
