Job summary

Solaris Energy Infrastructure seeks a mid-level Data Scientist to support turbine operations and reliability. You will bridge data engineering, ML modeling, and turbine knowledge to improve fleet uptime and provide actionable insights for leadership.

Responsibilities include building P&L dashboards, mining downtime data from SCADA sources, and deploying predictive models. Collaboration with engineering and operations is essential to align data with real-world conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a data-related field.
• 2–5 years of data analysis experience in energy/industrial ops preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; ability to build dashboards.
• Experience with time-series forecasting and predictive analytics.
• Experience with SCADA/historian data (OSIsoft PI etc.).
• Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and ML deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dashboards tracking turbine fleet KPIs and financials.
• Translate operational data into clear KPIs for leadership.
• Support monthly/quarterly reporting with timely data.
• Collect and structure turbine downtime data from SCADA/CMMS/ OEM reports.
• Develop predictive models to forecast downtime and degradation.
• Create anomaly detection tools from sensor data and validate outputs with OEM guidance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to reflect real-world conditions in data pipelines.
