Job summary

Hilcorp Alaska is seeking an Instrument/Turbine technician on the North Slope to maintain and overhaul gas turbine controls, instrumentation, and PLC logic across heavy-duty train equipment. You will assist with recontrols for OEM and legacy PLC systems, applying deep technical knowledge to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You must have hands-on experience with GE Frame 5, Ruston, Sulzer or Rolls-Royce turbines, strong controls background, and the ability to work independently in remote Arctic

Qualifications

• Five years minimum experience in instrumentation or electrical maintenance with a controls background.
• Oil and gas field experience preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks and work on call.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot / repair and perform preventative maintenance on gas turbine drivers and associated systems.
• Understand and tune anti-surge/ PID controls in gas compression and power systems.
• Maintain transmitters (flow, level, temperature, pressure) and instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate and repair PLCs and HMIs in hazardous environments.
• Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and electric control valves.
• Support shutdowns and TARs with instrumentation personnel.
• Complete project work including control system installation and as-builts.
