Job summary

Hilcorp Energy Company is seeking an Instrument/Turbine technician for the North Slope. The role maintains and overhauls controls, instrumentation, and PLC logic on gas turbines and related compressor/pump trains.

The candidate will assist with recontrols for OEM and legacy PLC systems and provide technical expertise for safe, reliable operations. Requires deep knowledge of expensive, complex machinery and computer systems; expects on-call availability and strong problem-solving skills to

Qualifications

Five (5) years minimum experience in instrumentation and/or electrical maintenance with a strong controls background.
Oil and gas field experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot/repair and perform preventative maintenance on gas turbine drivers and related training equipment.
Understand and tune anti-surge controls and PID controllers used in gas compression and power generation.
Calibrate and replace flow, level, temperature, and pressure transmitters (pneumatic, electronic, smart or analog).
Troubleshoot and maintain alarm and shut down systems in hazardous atmospheres (class 1, division 1&2) including PLCs and HMIs.
Perform control valve maintenance across hydraulic, pneumatic and electric systems.
Work on analytical and environmental monitoring equipment.
Assist with installation of control systems and documentation (FCO, as-builts).
Work with operations and craft teams to solve equipment malfunctions and maintenance issues.
