Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking a Tufting Shift Leader II to support daily manufacturing operations through equipment operation, leadership, training, and operational expertise. This role helps maintain safety, quality, production, and employee development while preparing for future leadership opportunities.

The position serves as an interim supervisor across shifts as needed and requires strong communication, basic math, and use of Microsoft Office tools. Prior tufting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• What you have: High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
• One year of related experience and/or training.
• Experience in tufting roles such as Tufting Machine Operator, Creeler, Mender, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
• Demonstrated leadership potential and willingness to participate in development initiatives.
• Strong communication and ability to promote a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the primary backup to department supervisors and assumes supervisory responsibilities during absences.
• Participates in development opportunities to prepare for future roles.
• Provide leadership support across shifts, departments, and areas as required.
• Provides work guidance and training to team members and ensures policy adherence.
• Performs tufting responsibilities and operates production equipment as needed.
• Support in quality-related roles to ensure standards and customer requirements.
• Identify and resolve operations, quality, safety, and maintenance issues to minimize downtime.
• Support safety initiatives and promote safe work behaviors.
• Follow all SOPs, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
