Position Description

Performs specialized Post Doctoral work in the planning, conducting and/orsupervision of original research. Responsible for participating in a researchproject associated with PhD studies and the interpretation of the results ofpublication. Work is performed under supervision of graduate faculty memberswith evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overalleffectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants.

About the Department and/or College

Major/Essential Functions

Collaborate, design, and publish research on: (1) teacher labor markets, (2)postsecondary and workforce trajectories for historically marginalized students,(3) school finance and funding formula reforms, and/or (4) school choicepolicy.

Support or lead program evaluation related to community-engaged researchprojects.

Develop grant proposals related to the topics mentioned above.

Required Qualifications

PhD in area of project specialization. Knowledge of modern researchpractices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof. Ability to organizework effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exerciseindependent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies andactivities. Ability to integrate resources, policies, and information for thedetermination of procedures, solutions and other outcomes. Ability to establishand maintain effective work relationships with other employees and the public.Ability to plan and allocate the workload of employees, providing directtraining and supervision as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

A track record of publication, or evidence of strong peer-reviewedpublication potential.

Evidence of research collaborations involving practitioners or other relevanteducational stakeholders.

Evidence of an education policy-oriented research agenda with an interest inworking both collaboratively and independently.

Pay Range

8 - $48,000 - $63,700 - $78,400
