Job summary

Continental, a leading tire manufacturer, seeks a TT Stock Prep Setup Technician in Mount Vernon, IL to set up and operate machine tools, assemble parts, and maintain industrial equipment for quality and production. The role involves electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, with focus on Beadwire detectors and 2D laser systems.

You will oversee automated systems checks, coordinate PMs, and ensure ESH policies are followed. Shift may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required; no visa sponsorship available.

Job Description

The TT Stock Prep Setup Technician will:

Sets up and operates variety of machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines.Setup and adjust all Truck Tire Cutting, BAC/ Apex bead machines equipment to specification for quality and production.

1. Make surveillance of assigned machines to maintain productive efficiency and utilize skills to reduce downtime on quality and production systems.
2. Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to setup, and maintain automated systems for quality and production (Beadwire detector, 2D laser systems, KEYENCE, Dog ear detection, wight systems on BACs as well as develop similar systems in PCT and Hot Prep).
3. Direct other setup techs as needed on best ways, practices, and trainings on systems in Hot/Cold Prep and PCT.
4. Supervise and audit current checks on automated systems (BCID and function checks)
5. Maintain accurate daily records on each machine so that a history of all breakdowns, changes, adjustments and other pertinent information is documented for reference.
6. Effectively communicate with Floor Supervisor, Lead Supervisor and other Setup Technicians when any malfunction or breakdown occurs.
7. Coordinate and perform routine scheduled MTC checks and corrections for systems.
8. Perform work as directed by Lead Supervisor and/or Department Manager related to machine efficiency and high quality production.
9. Schedule critical parts and repairs of machines with PM.
10. Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

The starting annual salary for this role is $64,613 a year.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
