Job summary

Continental in Mount Vernon, IL is seeking a TT QA Engineer to ensure quality control plans and work instructions meet Central PoMs and IATF standards. You will lead data analysis, assist with root cause evaluation, and drive improvement across the plant and sister sites.

You will support audits, SPC/8D investigations, gauge R&R, and quality initiatives, with limited travel as needed. Relocation sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Analyze benchmark results of internal cross-plant comparisons concerning quality objectives and cost using the Global Quality Score Card (GQSC).
• Perform statistical and capability analysis of data, and present reports.
• Lead and assist with TS16949 certification and compliance.
• Lead support and assist with local QMS requirements and related work instructions.
• Provide support for 4D and 8D investigations and root cause analysis.
• Support and promote local and global Quality initiatives and projects.
• Ensure yearly Gauge R&R studies are performed and reported.
• Support FOCUS and FAM topics analysis.
• Perform capability studies for NAR new equipment and processes.
• Prepare for and support yearly audits including Internal, Customer, PPS and IATF.
• Track audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented on schedule.

The TT QA Engineer will:

Ensure that Quality Control plan is in place and effective for assigned area(s) and that work instructions are accurate and in compliance with Central PoMs and IATF. Ensure Plant compliance to Corporate Quality standards and Strategic Quality Objectives. Provides support to assigned area management team, sister plants, Central and local requests. Lead in data analysis and provide support for root cause evaluation.

1. Analyze benchmark results of internal cross-plant comparisons concerning quality objectives and cost using the Global Quality Score Card (GQSC), Central Controlling or Customer Service reports.
2. Perform statistical and capability analysis of data, put into presentation format with reporting.
3. Lead and assist with TS16949 certification and compliance.
4. Lead support and assist with local QMS requirements, and departmental work instructions (creation, revision and maintenance) along with other Quality Objectives.
5. Provide support and assistance with 4D and 8D investigations and root cause analysis.
6. Support and promote local and global Quality initiatives, steer and lead Quality projects
7. Ensure that yearly assigned Gauge R&R studies are performed and reported.
8. Provide support and follow up analysis for FOCUS and FAM topics.
9. Perform capability studies and analysis for NAR new equipment and processes release.
10. Prepare for and support yearly audits including Internal, Customer, PPS and IATF.
11. Provides support for PCT, sister plants and Central requests.
12. Responsible for tracking audit findings for assigned area and follow-up so that corrective actions are in place and implemented according to committed timing.
13. Performs other duties as directed by the QA Engineering Manager and QM Department Manager.
14. initiate corrective actions for deviations from set Quality objectives, control their effectiveness and sustainability through the application of standard Quality Core Tools such as Structured Problem Solving (SPS), 8D, Lessons Learned, Audits, FMEA.
15. Limited Local and International Travel.
16. Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $75,000 a year.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
