Job summary

Continental is seeking a Truck Tire Assembly Setup Tech in Mount Vernon, IL to set up and adjust tire assembly equipment to spec for quality and production. You will use electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to diagnose and correct equipment, supervise initial tires after changes, and minimize downtime through proactive troubleshooting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with manufacturing/mechanical experience, legal work authorization in the U.S., and willingness to work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. No visa sponsorship.
• No relocation assistance is offered.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and adjust all Truck Tire Assembly Building equipment to specification for quality and production.
• Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to set-up, detect, adjust and correct equipment.
• Supervise and audit first tires after set-up changes to ensure production readiness.
• Troubleshoot and adjust machines to maintain uptime and efficiency.
• Monitor machines to reduce downtime and improve production quality.
• Communicate with Set-up, Floor, Shift Supervisors, and other technicians on malfunctions.
• Perform routine MTC checks and maintain accurate machine records.

The Truck Tire Assembly Setup Tech will:

Set-up and adjust all Truck Tire Assembly Building equipment to specification for quality and production.

1. Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to set-up, detect, adjust and correct truck tire building equipment.
2. Supervise and audit building of first truck tires after set-up changes or adjustments to insure set-up is to specification and approved for production.
3. Troubleshoot and make adjustments to machines.
4. Make surveillance of assigned machines to maintain productive efficiency and utilize skills to reduce downtime on equipment.
5. Effectively communicate with Set-up Supervisor, Floor Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, and other set-up technicians when any malfunction or breakdown occurs.
6. Perform work as directed by Shift Supervision, Set-up Supervisor, and/or Department Manager related to machine efficiency and high quality production.
7. Perform routine scheduled MTC checks and corrections.
8. Maintain accurate daily records on each machine so that a history of all breakdowns, changes, adjustments and other pertinent information is documented for reference
9. Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

The starting annual salary for this role is $64,613 a year.

• Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes.
• New Hires will likely be placed on a shift that includesevenings and weekends.
• The job is within a non-climate controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise. Majority of work completed in a high heat environment.
• The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.
