Responsibilities

• Set up and operate assigned machines to weigh, mix and blend materials.
• Load specified amounts of materials per SOP into equipment.
• Transfer materials between work areas using equipment or hand tools.
• Inspect materials and products for conformance to standards per SOP.
• Operate machines to mix ingredients to standard conditions.
• Maintain equipment with a 5S-focused approach and clean as directed.
• Monitor accessory equipment and report malfunctions.
• Follow work orders to meet production schedules and specs.
• Weigh/messure materials to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Collect samples for laboratory testing as required.
• Unload mixtures for further processing.
• Clear jams while following safety and quality SOPs.
• Maintain a safe, healthy workplace and comply with regulations.
• Continue learning through training and reading technical publications.
• Notify maintenance of machine issues.

Job Title

Finish Batch Mixer Operator- Batch Off

Summary:

Setup and operate assigned machine(s) to weigh, mix and/or blend rubber and other chemicals into a homogeneous mixture.

• Load specified amounts of materials as directed by SOP into machinery or equipment.
• Transfer materials, supplies, or products between work areas, using powered/non-powered transportation equipment and/or hand tools.
• Examine materials, ingredients, or products per SOP to ensure conformance to established standards.
• Operate machines per SOP to mix or blend ingredients to specific standard conditions.
• Clean and maintain equipment as directed targeting a 5S approach.
• Monitor accessory equipment, such as pumps or conveyors, to assure compliance to all standards of production process.
• Follow work orders to determine production schedule, specifications and compliance to standards.
• Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.
• Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.
• Unload mixtures into containers or onto conveyors for further processing.
• Dislodge and clear jammed materials or other items from machinery or equipment as needed while maintaining SOP for safety and quality.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Notifies maintenance department of machine malfunction.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 Years of manufacturing or warehouse experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
• Must possess basic computer skills, data entry skills, and the ability to operate and load simple computer programs to run the equipment.
• Ability to operate with speed and accuracy and maintain a team player attitude.
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a dynamic, energetic and fast paced work environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand/walk/move about specific work area
• Lift to 75+ lbs. on a frequent basis
• Exposure to industrial equipment, heat, and noise (PPE provided).
