Job summary

Leggett Dynamics in Morris, IL is seeking a production operator for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a chemical/rubber mixing environment.

You will operate the Banbury mixer, verify batch ingredients on the Banbury Mixing Sheet, and adjust oil and cycle temperatures on the PLC screen while maintaining a clean, safe work area. The role supports ISO9001 and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow batch instructions from the Banbury Mixing Sheet.
• Ability to operate mixer controls in auto and manual modes.
• Attention to quality and safety during ongoing production.

Responsibilities

• Use powered and unpowered hand truck to position containers of chemicals and/or rubber.
• Capable of identifying different types of chemicals and rubber.
• Able to utilize the "#11 Banbury Mixing Sheet" to confirm the proper ingredients per batch.
• Can operate the #11 Banbury mixer in both auto and manual modes.
• Understands how to adjust the oil, whiting, and cycle temperatures on the PLC screen.
• Maintains a clean mixer, mixer door, and throat free of excess buildup.
• Clears batch and oil counter at the end of each work order and/or at the end of the shift.
• Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards.
• Commitment to ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement.
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities related to product, process and the system.
• Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Hourly pay ranges from $21.62 to $21.94 based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is eligible for an annual performance increase, subject to or based on individual performance, business results, budgetary constraints, and other factors.
