Job Title: Multitasked Mixer Operator
Reports To: Department Supervisor
Job Summary
The Mixer Operator is responsible for accurately preparing and mixing dyes, chemicals, and auxiliary solutions used in textile production. This role ensures proper formulation, consistency, and quality control to support dyeing and finishing operations while maintaining safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, weigh, and mix dyes, pigments, and chemicals according to formulas and production specifications
- Follow batch sheets, recipes, and work orders to ensure accurate blends
- Operate and maintain mixing equipment, tanks, and dispensing systems
- Monitor mixing processes for consistency, color accuracy, and proper chemical reactions
- Label, store, and transport mixed solutions to appropriate production areas
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, batch numbers, and quantities
- Perform quality checks and make adjustments as needed
- Clean and sanitize mixing equipment and work areas to prevent contamination
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous chemicals and use of PPE
- Assist with inventory control by tracking chemical usage and reporting shortages
- Communicate with dye house operators, lab technicians, and supervisors regarding mix requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in textile manufacturing, dye house, or chemical mixing preferred
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating ratios
- Ability to read and interpret formulas, work orders, and safety data sheets (SDS)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods
- Ability to work in environments with heat, humidity, and chemical exposure
- Manufacturing/dye house setting
- Exposure to dyes, chemicals, and industrial equipment
- Use of personal protective equipment PPE (gloves, goggles, respirators as required)
