Job summary

General Dynamics - IT in the United States is seeking an experienced countermeasures engineer to design, evaluate, and test electrical, electromechanical, and computer systems for government and commercial use.

The role involves on-site site surveys, regulatory compliance reviews, documentation, and potential team guidance. Travel 25-50% and lifting up to 75 pounds are required.

Candidates should have a BA/BS and 10+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the TSCM Fundamentals Course at the ITC.
• Ability to carry and lift heavy equipment up to 75 pounds during travel and site reviews.
• Ability to travel 25-50% of the time.
• Experience conducting site surveys to ensure compliance with ICS 705, NSSAM 1-13, and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, plan, test and operate electrical, electromechanical, and/or computer components, equipment and systems for government, military, and/or scientific uses.
• Inspect customer sites for regulatory compliance.
• Perform tests, analyze results, and document findings.
• Develop research and development plans.
• Write and update technical documentation.
• Adjust methods, designs or equipment as needed.
• Lead special projects and mentor less-experienced professionals on the team.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.
• May serve as a technical team or task leader; not a people manager.
• Maintain customer equipment per manufacturer recommendations and directions.
• Prepare assessments of threats and trends from intelligence data.
