HII’s Mission Technologies division is seeking a skilled Technical Writer and Editor to join a collaborative team producing high-quality technical documents aligned with client guidelines. The role focuses on proofreading test plans, reports, studies, and briefing materials, including both classified and unclassified work, with strict security adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or 14 years with a HS diploma.
• Minimum 5 years proofreading experience with feedback responsibility.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with active SCI.
• Excellent written and verbal English communications.
• Proficiency with desktop publishing software (Adobe) and MS Office.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stay organized.
• Knowledge of DoD/Gov style guides is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and revise content for accuracy, spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax.
• Collaborate with engineers, editors, and production staff to publish content timely.
• Maintain appropriate tone, clarity, and structure for effective communication.
• Ensure adherence to in-house style guides and standards.
• Stay current with content trends and best practices.
• Update and compile style guides as required.
• Maintain and organize the Production Library across protected systems.
