Job summary

SOC LLC in Herndon, VA is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for a full-time role supporting Linux-based systems, automation, and observability. You will build dashboards with the ELK Stack, write Bash scripts, and automate data flows to improve reliability in a mission-focused environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree, and a Security+ certification, plus the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Security+ certification.
• 2-5 years in systems engineering, automation, DevOps, or related roles.
• Experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation tasks.
• Experience with the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana).
• Strong networking fundamentals and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automation in Linux environments.
• Create and enhance Bash scripts for system admin tasks and data collection.
• Develop and maintain job orchestration tools for data flows.
• Design, build, and maintain dashboards using Kibana.
• Support Elasticsearch data ingestion, indexing, and search.
• Monitor performance and identify automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with admins, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements.
• Assist with log analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Document automation processes and configurations.
• Participate in testing, deployment, and sustainment activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in monitoring and observability.
