Job summary

JCS Solutions LLC seeks a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to support 24/7 operations at the Pentagon reservation. The role requires 60% onsite presence at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA, with rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

You will monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity events across mixed environments and coordinate with incident responders and engineers. Active DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or related field.
• 4-8 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, triage, and investigate alerts from SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and cloud tooling.
• Analyze telemetry to identify anomalous or malicious activity across endpoints, networks, and identities.
• Conduct incident investigations, escalate cases, and coordinate with incident responders and stakeholders.
• Apply threat intelligence and MITRE ATT&CK knowledge to validate alerts and prioritize investigations.
• Support containment, eradication, and recovery activities with evidence collection and documentation.
• Perform forensic analysis for network and host investigations and threat hunting activities.
• Contribute to detection use-case development, playbooks, and SOC procedures.
• Prepare incident notes, shift summaries, and technical reports for stakeholders.
