ARKA Group L.P. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead software architecture for national critical systems in a highly secure environment. You will guide distributed teams, shape system designs, and drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, and modern cloud-native practices to deliver robust solutions.

This role requires deep customer-focus and program leadership. Location is King of Prussia, PA with relocation benefits and flex scheduling opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience as a Chief Architect or equivalent leader guiding teams through full SDLC in classified environments.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration in small, fast-paced teams.
• Proven track record of leading Agile software engineering initiatives across design to delivery.
• Experience designing and deploying large-scale cloud-based systems (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, VM management, object storage, and serverless computing.
• Ability to translate complex system analysis into actionable software concepts.
• Experience with code reviews, testing, and maintaining coding standards.
• Experience with geographically distributed teams and virtual collaboration.
• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with CI Poly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams across the full SDLC for program success.
• Drive CI/CD adoption, IaC, and automated testing for rapid delivery.
• Define cloud-native/distributed architectures (microservices, event-driven).
• Govern engineering quality, observability, and performance.
• Communicate risks and status to leadership and customers in real time.
• Facilitate architectural alignment with government customers.
• Prototype and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance security and performance.
