Job summary

Leidos Inc. in Reston, Virginia, seeks an Engineer Drafter to create and modify detailed engineering drawings and BIM models using CAD, CAM, CATIA, and BIM software.

The successful candidate will develop 3D BIM models and 2D drawings, perform clash detection, manage libraries, and ensure data integrity and compliance with standards while collaborating with experts in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused government environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess in-scope and active TS/SCI Polygraph clearance for consideration.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 6+ years; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience in Civil/Structural/Protective Engineering or BIM related to Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing senior government and organizational leaders.

Responsibilities

• Integrate intelligence, geotechnical, topographical data to model facility functions and configurations.
• Develop 3D BIM models and 2D CAD drawings across engineering disciplines.
• Perform clash detection and resolve model conflicts prior to design completion.
• Develop and maintain project BIM libraries, templates, and annotations.
• Audit models for data integrity, spatial accuracy, and adherence to LOD and standards.
• Produce customer deliverables from BIM models, including reports and schedules.
• Participate in model coordination meetings with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Execute detailed engineering drawings and layouts following drafting standards.
