Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks a Network Engineer (Level 0) with an active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph to maintain and troubleshoot secure networks in the Columbia, United States area. The role focuses on monitoring systems, performing scheduled maintenance, and coordinating with vendors to resolve issues.

The candidate should have an Associate degree in engineering technology plus 2 years of related experience (or 4 years of equivalent experience).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Substitution: 4 years total experience may replace the degree.
• Experience installing and configuring network devices (Cisco/Juniper/Brocade).
• Experience with Type-1 encryptors and inline network encryptors (e.g., TACLANES, KG-175).
• Familiarity with MPLS, BGP, and VPNs.

Responsibilities

• Network monitoring & alerting: monitor networks, identify issues, and initiate resolution or escalation.
• Maintenance & operations: execute scheduled maintenance and manage network lines.
• Troubleshooting & problem resolution: perform first- and second-level analysis and document results.
• Vendor & user interface: work with users and vendors to resolve issues.
• Equipment & analyzer operation: use network analyzers and test equipment for diagnostics and testing.
• Instruction adherence: follow procedures to maintain integrity and security.
