Job summary

Vantor is hiring a data analyst to support an IC MASINT mission, collaborating with data scientists to prepare, clean, and analyze complex datasets. The role emphasizes documenting processes, building data pipelines, and delivering clear analytics for leadership.

You will leverage Python, SQL, and Tableau to automate preparation, generate visualizations, and communicate results to diverse audiences, with on-site support to DoD/IC environments. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, CS, engineering, statistics, GIS or related field; additional 2 years accepted in lieu.
• 3 years of professional experience in data analytics or data engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with data wrangling (pandas, PySpark) and APIs/batch processing.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and governance.
• Proficient with Tableau or similar dashboard tools.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP for data-related services.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
• Ability to translate questions into analytical requirements, metrics, reports, and visualizations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior data scientists to prepare, clean, and process datasets.
• Communicate analytical findings and limitations to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Use Python, SQL, and scripting tools to automate data prep, QA, and reporting.
• Query, integrate, and analyze data from relational databases, APIs, flat files, and data platforms.
• Document source-data issues, transformations, and validation needs for data engineers.
• Identify data-quality issues and coordinate with teams to resolve them.
• Develop and deploy data pipelines with data engineering and DevOps teams.
• Tag metadata and curate datasets for knowledge-management and LLM workflows.
• Implement basic statistical analyses, visualizations, and reporting for EDA and hypothesis testing.
• Maintain documentation of data preparation methods and pipeline configurations.
• Support integration of data into downstream modeling and LLM/NLP workflows.
• Assist with tagging training data for LLM models and exposure to KM systems.
