Job summary

LMI Consulting, LLC is seeking an IT Hardware Engineer to support procurement, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of desktop, laptop, server, and peripheral hardware across multiple facilities, including SAP and SCIF environments.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility, 3+ years of hardware experience, and ability to travel up to 50% to program locations in the Washington, DC area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of IT hardware engineering, deployment, or field support experience.
• Experience supporting classified or federal systems environments.
• Experience supporting SAP facilities, systems, or environments.
• Hands-on imaging, break/fix, and asset lifecycle management.
• Ability to lift/move IT equipment and perform physical installation tasks.
• Familiarity with RMF and NIST SP 800-37/800-53 security authorization processes as they apply to classified hardware environments.
• Familiarity with ICD 705 physical security standards as they apply to SCIF and SAP facility hardware requirements.
• TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Procure, configure, image, and deploy desktops, laptops, servers, and peripheral hardware.
• Perform hardware installation, upgrades, break/fix, and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate hardware inventory, asset tags, and lifecycle documentation.
• Support rack and stack, cabling, and physical installation of hardware in data center, SCIF, and SAP facility environments.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware-related incidents, escalating complex systems issues as needed.
• Coordinate with facility security officers (FSOs) to ensure hardware handling, transport, and disposal comply with classified and SAP environment requirements.
• Support hardware configuration and integration for cross-domain solutions (CDS) and VTC endpoints across sites.
• Assist with RMF/NIST documentation to support authorization activities.
• Support deployment and integration of ITSM toolsets as part of NOC/SOC operations.
