Job summary

Google Public Sector seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer for National Security in Reston, VA. The role involves building secure, production-grade AI solutions and integrating them with customer live infrastructures.

You will code, debug, and co-create agentic workflows with customers, addressing data sovereignty and security within strict compliance. Requirements include a CS/engineering degree, 8+ years in Python, cloud AI architecture on GCP, and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, CS, or related field.
• 8+ years of software development experience with Python or similar.
• Experience architecting AI systems on cloud platforms (GCP).
• Experience building pipelines for structured and unstructured data using vector DBs and RAG-like architectures.
• Experience leading technical discovery sessions with customers.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with current polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI solutions deployed across Federal and SLED environments.
• Code, debug, and co-build agentic workflows with customers.
• Address integration, data sovereignty, and security challenges within compliance frameworks.
• Help accelerate safe, reliable adoption of generative AI across mission-critical ops.
• Provide field feedback to Google Cloud Product engineering.
