Job summary

Leidos seeks an Elastic Search Engineer to join a fast-paced platform team at a client site in Bethesda, MD. You will build, deploy, and maintain Elasticsearch-based data services within a microservice ecosystem using Kubernetes, while adopting GitOps practices and collaborating across engineering, security, and operations teams.

Required qualifications include a TS/SCI clearance, DoD 8570.01M IAT II certification, and 8+ years of related experience (Bachelor’s degree) with strong Linux,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent) with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master’s with 6+ years.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.
• Current DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II certification (or higher).
• Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms (EKS, Rancher, etc.).
• Experience designing, maintaining, and tuning Elasticsearch databases.
• Experience with Redis and other NoSQL stores.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, triage, debug, and maintain production Elasticsearch/Redis databases.
• Design and support configuration management across air-gapped networks.
• Partner with Systems Engineers to architect new capabilities.
• Contribute to monitoring capabilities and proactive notifications.
• Contribute to engineering documentation and diagrams.
• Participate in Agile release planning and team ceremonies.
