Job summary

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Systems Administrator to support secure CWAN infrastructure for mission-critical government programs on-site in McLean, VA. You will implement security controls, hardening, vulnerability management, and RMF artifacts in collaboration with ISSE and security teams.

The role requires active DoD TS/SCI with CI polygraph and 5+ years of federal DoD experience, focusing on secure Linux/Windows administration and cross-team coordination.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of systems administration experience in federal or DoD environments.
• Hands-on with RMF and security documentation (SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms).
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows hardening and vulnerability management.
• Familiar with NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, DoD 8510.01, and FISMA.
• Proficiency with ACAS, Nessus, STIG Viewer, SCAP.
• Strong written/verbal communication and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain technical security controls with ISSE and security team.
• Support preparation of SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms and RMF artifacts.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and system hardening to fix weaknesses.
• Coordinate with ISSE, developers, and network engineers for controls.
• Support ATO processes and security authorization activities.
• Participate in change control and configuration management boards.
• Collaborate with ISSOs/ISSMs and government security officials.
• Stay updated on evolving federal cyber guidance and threats.
