Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Data Center Administrator to design, deploy, and manage its data center infrastructure. The role focuses on server, network, and power systems, requiring hands-on experience with various hardware architectures and a commitment to high data quality, availability, and security.

You will collaborate with the team to implement improved data center operations. The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with 1+ year data center experience or 3+ years without a degree, plus experience

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM with 1+ year data center experience, or 3+ years of data center experience in lieu of a degree.
Professional experience in a data center or with IT hardware.
Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, and CCNP are preferred.

Responsibilities

Resolve operational, infrastructure or hardware incidents across multiple data centers.
Manage lifecycle of data center hardware from deployment to decommission.
Rack and cable data center equipment.
Track physical storage of data center equipment.
Perform quality assurance testing and resolve recurring issues.
Schedule and track hardware maintenance tasks.
Update port maps, rack layouts, and procedures.
Monitor environmental, power and cooling systems for optimal server operation.
Run hardware diagnostics and replace failing parts in a timely manner.
Upgrade CPUs, memory and storage.
Setup and operate Linux and Windows servers.
Document processes and keep event logs.
Collaborate with purchasing on equipment procurement.
