Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Security Architect to guide secure cloud design and implementations, including IA policies, ATO support, and integration with Salesforce. You will work across enterprise architectures to ensure security controls align with NIST guidelines and government requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and seven years of security/ATO experience.
• Emerging authority who applies extensive technical experience and develops technical solutions.
• Deep working knowledge of NIST security guidance (e.g., NIST SP 800-53) and federal ATO processes.
• Experience architecting security for cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and FedRAMP-aligned platforms.
• Experience securing SaaS/PaaS platforms; familiarity with the Salesforce security model is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills for PMOs, engineers, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CCSP, or CISM preferred.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Responsibilities

• Guide the design and implementation of secure cloud solutions.
• Drive configuration and implementation of cloud-based security to reduce risk.
• Ensure stakeholder security requirements are addressed in enterprise architecture.
• Serve as IA SME for IA architecture policies and procedures.
• Provide IA management support to PMOs for information systems lifecycle.
• Guide integration of IA controls at acquisition lifecycle for cloud capabilities.
• Act as liaison for enterprise-level IA controls with NIST guidance.
• Oversee design and implementation of enterprise IA solutions and access controls.
• Support A&A/ATO activities including POA&M management and coordination with assessors.
• Partner with platform and development teams (including Salesforce) to embed security controls.
