Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking a Systems Engineer Sr Principal to support Government activities in Annapolis Junction, MD or Sterling, VA. The role focuses on back-end SharePoint engineering, integrating SharePoint services with load balancing, and delivering a roadmap for the customer’s future infrastructure.

You will design system architectures, develop requirements, provide technical leadership, and coordinate with government stakeholders.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a polygraph.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II or equivalent security cert.
Bachelor’s degree + 8 years’ experience in a related technical discipline.
Experience expanding SharePoint indexing to external sources and improving search relevance.
Experience managing SharePoint Online and on‑premises infrastructure.
Experience with SharePoint security controls (RBAC, MFA, DLP).
Strong PowerApps and Power Automate for business process automation.
Experience creating SharePoint solutions (web parts, workflows, content management).
Experience in back-end programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, Perl, Ruby, C++, etc.).

Responsibilities

Designs and defines system architecture and system design documentation for new or existing computer systems.
Analyzes user requirements and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities.
Guides users in formulating requirements and conducts feasibility studies.
Provides technical leadership for integration of requirements, design, and technology.
Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
Guides system development and implementation planning through system engineering plans and test plans.
Interacts with Government regarding technical considerations and issues.
Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
