Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to join a federal program in Newington, VA. The role focuses on designing secure, resilient networks for government customers, with emphasis on routing, switching, and data center integration.

The engineer will deploy and manage Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and ACI environments, implement Zero Trust security, and monitor networks with SolarWinds, NetFlow, and Wireshark. A TS/SCI clearance and 10+ years of exp are desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of related network engineering experience.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Expertise in BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing.
• Experience with LAN/WAN architecture, design, and deployment.
• Proficiency with SolarWinds, NetFlow, and Wireshark.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, QoS, and load balancers.
• Strong background with Cisco Catalyst/Nexus/ACI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, secure, and maintain resilient network architectures for government customers.
• Architect and optimize LAN/WAN, data center, and cloud networking solutions.
• Lead deployment and lifecycle management of routing and switching technologies.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and ACI environments.
• Develop and implement network security including Zero Trust architectures.
• Monitor network health and performance using enterprise tools and resolve issues.
