Job summary

Independent Software, Inc. seeks a Systems Engineer Level 3 to support mission-critical systems across the lifecycle. You will administer Linux environments (Red Hat/CentOS/Rocky), manage FreeIPA/AD authentication, and support GOTS software.

You will develop Bash and Python scripts and produce system drawings and documentation. You’ll work with a small, focused team to ensure testing, deployment, and sustainment align with mission requirements, resolving complex issues and providing operational

Qualifications

• Candidates must have strong Linux admin experience and be able to design, implement, test, deploy, and sustain mission-critical systems.
• Experience with Red Hat, CentOS, or Rocky Linux is required.
• Experience with FreeIPA and/or Active Directory for authentication/authorization is required.
• Experience installing and maintaining GOTS software is required.
• Scripting skills in Bash and Python are required.
• Proven ability in system testing, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
• Experience supporting systems engineering activities and producing technical documentation is required.

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle from concept to sustainment.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Rocky).
• Manage authentication/authorization with FreeIPA and Active Directory.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot GOTS software applications.
• Develop scripts in Bash and Python.
• Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and integration.
• Create and maintain system documentation and engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve issues and support mission requirements.
