Job summary

Independent Software, based in Maryland, seeks a Systems Engineer Level 3 to support mission-critical systems throughout the engineering lifecycle, from design to sustainment.

You will administer Linux environments, support GOTS software, troubleshoot issues, and develop technical docs and system drawings as part of a small, mission-focused team. A TS SCI with polygraph is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux system administration experience.
• Experience with Red Hat, CentOS, or Rocky Linux.
• Experience with FreeIPA and/or Active Directory authentication and authorization.
• Experience installing and maintaining GOTS software.
• Ability to create, read, and modify Bash and Python scripts.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and engineering drawing packages.

What You Will Do

At Independent Software, as a Systems Engineer Level 3, you will support mission-critical systems throughout the engineering lifecycle, from initial design and integration through testing, deployment, and sustainment. You will work with a small, mission-focused team to administer Linux environments, support Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) software, troubleshoot system issues, and develop technical documentation and system drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Support all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, from concept through sustainment.

Education And Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following:

• High School Diploma, GED, or Associate's Degree: Eighteen (18) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD: Fourteen (14) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience with a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Clearance Requirement

• Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
