Job summary

General Dynamics IT is seeking a Circuit Activation Engineer to design, deploy, and support secure, high‑performance network solutions at the JSP ETM - NG program in the Pentagon, Arlington, VA. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and onsite work with a standard day shift.

You will provision network devices, plan systems for data networks, and coordinate with Cable Engineers and Service Desk teams to activate connectivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical discipline.
• DoDD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification is required.
• 5+ years of related experience including 1-3 years in network engineering and/or administration.
• Hands-on experience with network engineering data and voice communications networks.

Responsibilities

• Provision & configure network devices (switches, routers) as part of the MAC (Move, Add, Change) team.
• Create plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
• Collaborate with Cable Engineers & Tier I/II Service Desk Technicians to activate and provide network connectivity to JSP customer base.
• Support MAC Layer 1 & 2 activations.
• Use Element Management tools to determine port and network resource availability to meet capacity requirements.
• Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
• Provide network support and troubleshooting for the MAC team.
• Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
• May be required to work odd hours to support priority service activations for VIPs & Emergency Response Activities.
• Other duties as assigned
