Job summary

GRVTY in Herndon, VA and at Springfield, VA is seeking a Big Data Analyst to support mission partners by evaluating datasets and shaping data-engineering approaches across applications.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of data-analytics experience; you will work with software engineers, ETL teams, Big Data SMEs, and cybersecurity to deliver analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearance and be willing and able to obtain a CI polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; equivalent years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• At least 5 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist or similar.
• Experience formulating a repeatable process for data evaluations and communicating findings to government officials.
• In-depth knowledge of technical data types based on previous research and work with data sets of interest, including Technical Telemetry Data and telecom data types (cellular and wi‑fi).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter with excellent time-management and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Must be experienced working in fast-paced environments.
• Experience working with Software Engineers to provide feedback and validate the technical implementation for custom applications.
• Experience with Python, SQL, Spark, PySpark or similar.
• Must be able to work on-site in Herndon, VA, with Springfield, VA as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing and developing dataset evaluations and assessments to inform government decision making.
• Shaping data engineering approaches for analytic tradecraft improvements within our applications.
• Identifying and documenting gaps within our data corpus and analytical capabilities.
• Working hand-in-hand with software developers to field requirements and provide feedback as changes are implemented into an application.
• Working with end-users to provide SME support for various data or application questions and requests.
