Job summary

GRVTY is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain ETL pipelines for end-to-end data operations, from ingestion to query. You will join an agile team and work with Python, Java, and big data tools, while supporting DoD data needs.

A hybrid setup requires 1–2 days weekly at the Sterling, VA office, with flexibility for schedule changes, and current TS/SCI eligibility is preferred. You will collaborate across a small, dynamic team to deliver high-quality solutions, stay updated on the latest

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or technical degree or industry experience equivalent.
• Current Active Top Secret Clearance, SCI eligible.
• Experience with Python and Java.
• Fluency with data extraction, translation development, and labeling for data analytics.
• Familiarity with JSON, XML, and similar log formats.
• Ability to decompose technical problems and troubleshoot data flow issues.
• Experience with agile software lifecycle.
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team.
• Experience with Linux OS and configuration management tools (Git, Nexus, Maven).
• Familiarity with cyber security logs (Windows logs, firewall logs).
• Experience with data from acquisition to display/usage; troubleshooting at scale.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certification (Security+) or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• Hybrid work with 1-2 days/week at Sterling VA office; flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develop ETL pipelines for end-to-end data workflows.
• Work with big data systems and diverse data sets; support DoD data efforts.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and problem decomposition.
• Apply testing and QA skills to ensure data integrity and reliability.
• Troubleshoot data flow issues under pressure and deadlines.
• Contribute in a fast-paced, small business environment both independently and in a team.
