Summary:
This position leads plant engineering and provides technical leadership for the maintenance department. This position is responsible for capital planning, coordination and implementation. In addition, this position provides safety and environmental technical support including regulatory compliance and service requirements.
Responsibilities:
Provides planning, direction, and coordination for all technical activities while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Provides direct technical support or coordinates technical services to ensure line efficiencies, safety and environmental requirements are met.
Ensures preventative and predictive maintenance tasks and schedules are developed and followed for all relevant equipment.
Ensures equipment parts are stocked and maintained to support equipment repairs and preventative services.
Coordinates or provides technical training to technical staff including developing machine specific technical instructions.
Prepares and controls department annual expense budget, forecasts operating costs of department, and reporting of department budget results monthly.
Supports and initiates cost reduction activity.
Develops capital plan working with plant stakeholders and corporate engineering.
Develops plans and establishes engineering schedules to meet or exceed plan.
Administers personnel functions including interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, coaching and administering disciplinary action when required.
Experience, Skills, Education:
5+ years Management/Leadership experience leading engineering, food processing, maintenance and technical service groups
Technical or Engineering degree preferred
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and participate in cross functional teams
Ability to develop, control and report on project management activities
Experience in scheduling planned maintenance activities
Proven electrical and mechanical skills
PLC knowledge and experience
Ability to develop, control, and report on department budgets
AutoCAD
Compensation:
Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 Annually + Bonus
