Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Technical Lead to lead a new mission area at Patrick Space Force Base in Melbourne, FL. This TS-cleared role requires onsite work and experience delivering scalable, secure cloud-based solutions for DoD missions.

You will guide software and infrastructure teams, define architectures, and drive end-to-end delivery with a focus on security, DevSecOps, and mission success. Expect field assignments and collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering; 9+ years of relevant experience; Graduate degree with 7+ years or 13+ years experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active TS clearance with ability to obtain SCI.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME support for customer API user groups and resolve customer issues.
• Apply change management to customer requests within contract scope.
• Deploy and maintain AWS-based applications ensuring they are scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective.
• Integrate cloud-native services, databases, and components across distributed environments.
• Apply software engineering best practices across full lifecycle including code reviews (JSON, Python, Bash), automated testing, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with system, cloud, cyber teams and mission stakeholders to define requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Engage daily with customers to understand needs, gather feedback, and refine functionality.
• Produce architectural designs, implementation plans, and roadmaps aligned with mission goals.
• Maintain technical documentation for system design, deployment procedures, and sustainment.
• Deliver presentations and briefings translating complex concepts into actionable information.
