Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates Tax Manager in Phoenix to lead fiduciary tax engagements and provide high-level planning and compliance support for a diverse client base. This role focuses on accurate, timely tax filings and mentoring junior staff in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

You will review federal and state fiduciary returns, lead engagements, ensure compliance with fiduciary and estate law, and stay current with regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of trust and estate tax experience.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare federal and state fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041) and estate tax returns (Form 706).
• Lead multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax preparation, planning, and consulting services.
• Ensure compliance with fiduciary, tax, and estate laws.
• Communicate technical issues, recommendations, and opportunities to clients and prospects, including in-person meetings.
• Provide guidance and training to junior staff and collaborate within an integrated team.
• Stay current with changes in fiduciary, tax, and estate law; participate in ongoing professional development.
