Qualifications

Job description

DarrowEverett LLP is looking for a Trust & Estates / Real Estate Paralegal with immediate availability. The candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, be able to multitask without sacrificing efficiency, be responsible, and be able to represent the firm, always, in ways that enhance its reputation.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Providing legal support and guidance associated with personal trust and estate administration.
  • Overseeing the contract process, including planning, collaboration, negotiation, and execution.
  • Fiduciary investment management activities, and general fiduciary law.
  • Research and assist with matters involving trusts, estates, guardianships, custodians, fiduciary investment management activities, powers of attorney, and legal processes.
  • Responsible for reviewing/updating related matrices, as well as other tasks as needed, including research of statutes and regulations; support tax matters and tax strategies.
  • Providing closing, title, survey and other support as needed in connection with real estate and finance transactions.
  • Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
  • Working with other members of the legal team on special projects and initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 4-7 years of paralegal experience required.
  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred; Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Work independently and demonstrate flexibility to handle a wide variety of tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods and other related matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
