Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and Virginia bar membership.
• 5–10 years of substantial trusts and estates experience.
• Experience counseling tax-exempt entities.
• Originating and growing a book of business is preferred.
• Strong drafting skills and command of tax planning.
• Excellent client counseling and communication abilities.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning strategies.
• Draft and negotiate complex estate planning documents tailored to client objectives.
• Provide counsel on fiduciary duties, trust administration, and probate matters.
• Collaborate with corporate and real estate colleagues for integrated planning solutions.
• Develop and grow a book of business; deepen relationships with clients and referral sources.
• Assist clients with tax planning and controversies.
• Support corporate attorneys with tax aspects of transactions and planning.
• Lead and mentor associates and paralegals; contribute to practice management.
• Stay current on tax law developments and advise clients on planning opportunities.
