Job summary

UMB Financial Corporation is seeking a Trust Officer II in Edina, MN hybrid mode. You will build long-term client relationships and provide fiduciary administration across estates, trusts, IRA and custody accounts, handling complex scenarios with proactive service.

Qualified candidates have a college degree and 10 years of trust experience; CTFA or CFP designation is preferred, with potential for supervisory responsibilities and advanced financial planning work.

  • Proven ability to sell and drive referrals.
  • Strong knowledge of fiduciary administration incl. estates, trusts, IRA and custody.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships to increase revenue from assigned accounts.
  • Ensure fiduciary duties and compliance with laws and bank policies.
  • Provide wealth strategy planning and investment guidance when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Portfolio Manager or provide investment updates for clients.

## Trust Officer IIApply: Hybrid: MN - Edina - 7701 France Avenue S, Suite 110: Full time: Posted Today: R-8819As a Trust Officer at UMB you will build long-term client relationships and enhance existing relationships through quality customer service, including anticipating client needs, clear communications, effective client meetings and meeting client service level standards. Provides proper fiduciary administration for all aspects of assigned accounts, including probate estates, conservatorships, personal trusts (inter vivos and testamentary), custody, agency, IRA, and other assigned accounts, handling the most complex situations.**How You Will Spend Your Time:*** Develop, maintain and manage both internal and external relationships to increase revenue from assigned book of accounts through quality client service leading to referrals for new business, upgrades in account status, direct sales and referrals for other bank products and services.* Ensures compliance with the Bank's fiduciary duties in the administration of estate, trust, IRA and custody accounts according to the directives in the will, trust document or investment management, IRA or custody agreement as well as applicable laws statutes, regulations, and UMB policies and procedures.* Provides solution-oriented planning for clients and coordination of wealth strategy planning goals and objectives.* When appropriate, for accounts without an assigned Portfolio Manager, provides investment management services for clients, including assessment of the appropriate risk level for the client or trust, high level investment updates and portfolio advice.* Maintains current knowledge of UMB policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations.**We Are Excited To Talk To You If:*****MINIMUM:**** College degree* 10 years of technical trust and planning experience* Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation***PREFERRED:**** One advanced degree relative to financial & estate planning* Juris doctorate* Supervisory experience**Knowledge & Skills*****MINIMUM:**** Demonstrates successful ability to sell; competitive and results oriented* Demonstrates Investment knowledge and understanding* Demonstrates extensive knowledge of Trust and Bank products and services (i.e., investments, insurance, brokerage, private banking, retirement planning)* Demonstrates proven problem solving, dispute resolution and assistance with litigation management* Demonstrates ability to perform highly autonomous decision-making and inform management as needed* Demonstrates ability to maintain current knowledge of company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations* Demonstrates high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)* Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with an ability to develop and cultivate internal and external relationships***PREFERRED:**** Active in community and professional organizations; considered a leader in the community.* Strong organizational and management skills* Highly self-confident with an ability to lead capable and successful individuals in a team environment.This position was posted on 09/16/2026.
