Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal in Chicago, IL for a hybrid role with a focus on probate and estate planning matters. The candidate will support attorneys in probate administration, trust administration, and related corporate/real estate transactions.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of paralegal experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office and document management systems. A paralegal certificate or BA is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Trusts & Estates Paralegal experience.
  • Experience handling probate and estate administration matters.
  • Knowledge of trust administration and fiduciary accountings.
  • Experience preparing probate court filings and related documentation.
  • Familiarity with Illinois probate procedures and electronic court filing systems.
  • Understanding of corporate and real estate matters related to estate planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with probate estate administration from inception through closing.
  • Prepare and file probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, notices, and related court documents.
  • Coordinate with courts, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, and third parties.
  • Monitor probate deadlines and court schedules.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze estate asset information.
  • Assist with the administration of revocable and irrevocable trusts.
  • Prepare trust funding and asset transfer documentation.
  • Coordinate distributions to beneficiaries.
  • Maintain trust records and fiduciary accountings.
  • Communicate with trustees and beneficiaries regarding trust administration matters.
  • Maintain case files, calendars, and docketing systems.
  • Draft correspondence and legal documents.

Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid)

Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 annually

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal for a full-service business law firm in Chicago at their headquarters. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional with experience in probate administration, estate planning, trust administration, fiduciary matters, and related real estate and corporate transactions.

Key Responsibilities
Probate & Estate Administration
  • Assist attorneys with probate estate administration from inception through closing.

  • Prepare and file probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, notices, and related court documents.

  • Coordinate with courts, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, and third parties.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or Bachelor's degree preferred.
