Job summary

Edward Jones is seeking a New Business Trust Advisor II to serve as the primary onboarding and trusted advisor for fiduciary accounts. You will ensure timely, accurate service for clients and branch teams while expanding trust opportunities and deepening relationships.

You will collaborate with the Trust Company Client Service Team and various internal partners, promoting service excellence across the Edward Jones ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Professional certification such as CTFA, CFP, CPA, JD strongly preferred.
  • At least 5+ years trust, estate management, or related financial services experience required.
  • Knowledge of fiduciary, gifting, trust management, estate planning principles, taxes, insurance, and investment concepts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations and applicable laws, tax planning and wealth-transfer strategies.
  • Advanced ability to balance high-risk compliance, legal, and business decisions.
  • Ability to effectively train, delegate and informally lead others who provide service to the client and branch team.
  • Highly skilled in written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote Edward Jones Trust Company services across Edward Jones ecosystem.
  • Serve as a dedicated relationship manager for assigned branch and regional teams.

  • Manage high-net-worth new business sales reporting.
  • Travel periodically across the US to meet with branch teams.

Team Overview

Edward Jones Trust Company provides a full range of trust, investment management, and custody services to individuals, businesses, charitable organizations, and private foundations. The New Business Senior Trust Advisor serves as the primary relationship manager for Edward Jones branch teams, with a particular focus on delivering an exceptional account onboarding experience. This individual acts as the trusted point of contact throughout the onboarding process, ensuring both clients and branch teams receive timely, accurate, and high-quality service.

What You Will Do

Beyond onboarding, the New Business Trust Advisor II plays a critical role in the overall client experience by maintaining strong relationships with branch teams, collaborating closely with the Edward Jones Trust Company Client Service Team, and providing informal leadership and guidance within the organization. The position is responsible for helping resolve client and branch inquiries, driving service excellence, and fostering confidence in the Trust Company’s capabilities.

A key objective of the role is to strengthen and deepen relationships with existing Edward Jones branches, increasing awareness and utilization of trust services. By consistently delivering outstanding service and acting as a trusted advisor, the Trust Advisor II helps expand trust business opportunities and enhance long‑term client and branch engagement.

Additional Responsibilities Include
  • Actively participate in promoting Edward Jones Trust Company services across the Edward Jones ecosystem including with clients, Financial Advisors, branch teams, and internal partners.
  • Serve as a dedicated relationship manager and primary Trust Company resource for assigned branch and regional teams and it's respective new business opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through ongoing communication and outreach.
  • Manage HNW new business sales reporting.
  • Travel periodically throughout the US to meet with branch teams and regions in support of relationship development (e.g. participate in monthly home office on-site financial advisor training sessions.)
  • Manage ongoing-related prospects and branch concerns.
  • Resolve issues proactively and provide recommended solutions that align client expectations with Trust Company capabilities.
  • Lead the onboarding process for all new fiduciary accounts.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities across Trust Officers, Fiduciary Officers, Portfolio Managers, Trust Specialists, and internal partners.
  • Provide initial guidance on whether EJTC can administer prospect's governing documents. Activities may include:
    • Evaluate prospective relationships through comprehensive risk assessments.
    • Analyze assets, family dynamics, beneficiary structures, tax returns, accounting, and other relevant information.
    • Review and perform initial interpretation of governing documents with the administration of trusts in perspective, including:
      • Trust agreements
      • Wills
      • Powers of Attorney
      • Beneficiary designations
      • Related contracts and legal documents
    • Review of investments, inclusive of unique assets requirements such as real estate, land / farm, and closely held securities.
    • Consult with EJTC's fiduciary officers and legal team as appropriate.
  • Participate in Trust Company and firm-wide initiatives that improve client service and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with partners across the Trust Company and firm to support complex client needs and develop new solutions.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide guidance to Trust Company associates.
  • Maintain compliance with Trust Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
What Experience You Need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Professional certification, such as CTFA, CFP, CPA, JD strongly preferred
  • At least 5+ years trust, estate management, or related legal or financial services experience required;
  • Knowledge of advanced fiduciary, gifting, trust management principles, estate planning principles, taxes, insurance, and investment principles and techniques required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations and applicable laws, tax planning and wealth-transfer strategies
  • Advanced ability to balance high-risk compliance, legal, and business decisions
  • Ability to effectively train, delegate and informally lead others who provide service to the client and branch team
  • Must be highly skilled in written and verbal communication (especially in the explanation of complex legal matters to clients that may not have deep acumen in these complex legal matters) and demonstrate high level of interpersonal skill

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
