Job summary

Swift Supply in Alabama is seeking a Truss Lead to direct daily truss fabrication and ensure production meets the schedule. You will set up and build all truss types, assign tasks to builders, and monitor progress while maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

You will read blueprints and work orders, train new team members, coordinate material flow, and communicate with leads and management to address issues and maintain quality and efficiency on the line.

Qualifications

• Proficient in all aspects of the truss building process.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve machinery and efficiency issues.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong analytical reasoning and judgment to quickly solve production issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively (speaking, listening, and writing) with co-workers.
• Basic computer skills.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assign tasks to truss builders based on their skill level.
• Set up truss assembly tables and machinery according to project requirements.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet deadlines.
• Proactively communicate with fellow leads and managers regarding production progress and potential issues.
• Inspect completed trusses for accuracy, defects, and compliance with building codes to ensure a quality product is delivered.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing safety procedures and housekeeping.
