Job summary

Sunpro is seeking a Truss Mechanic to maintain and repair production equipment at our facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance, basic electrical and welding tasks, and ensure tools and machinery stay in optimal condition.

The role requires teamwork, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to travel to multiple locations as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a willingness to work long hours in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair truss equipment to keep production running smoothly.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic electrical and welding repairs.
• Inspect and lubricate machinery, change oils, and keep tools in good condition.
• Travel to all truss locations as needed and assist in other shop roles.
• Ensure a safe work environment and follow company safety policies.

JOB TITLE:Truss Mechanic

JOB LOCATION:St. George, UT

REPORTING TO:Truss Foreman

FUNCTION:Under the direction of the shop supervisor, the shop mechanic is responsible for Preventative maintenance, repairs and installation of truss production equipment in Sunpro truss facilities

KEY ACTIVITIES:

• Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values.
• Ensures that all truss equipment is in excellent working condition to avoid downtime and delays in production.
• Perform minor electrical repairs (including electronic controls), minor welding repairs, as well as equipment and plant maintenance repairs.
• Check and change all oils and perform proper lubrication in equipment.
• Maintain tools as required to perform job.
• Hold Medical card.
• Maintain insurable driving record.
• Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times. Offer training on best practices on equipment maintenance.
• Willing to travel to all truss locations as needed.
• Assist in other positions around the shop on an as needed basis. Including but not limited to table builder, sawyer, saw helper, moving and catching trusses, operating a forklift to move trusses and lumber in the yard, delivering trusses and other items to the job site.
