Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking an Assembler in Sheboygan, WI. The role offers 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts with hours from early morning to overnight. Primary duties include assembling trusses, verifying dimensions, labeling, and moving materials on the production floor.

The position requires a HS diploma, basic math, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Forklift experience or willingness to learn is preferred, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous forklift experience or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold and variable weather conditions for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Basic math skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, physically active and repetitive environment.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assembling trusses by placing components on production tables and securing them with reinforcement plates.
• Verifying dimensions of pre-cut parts and assemblies using rulers and gauges.
• Ensuring proper placement of stops and guides on production tables for accuracy.
• Applying tags, labels, and documentation to finished products.
• Operating and monitoring roller conveyors and stackers to guide trusses through the production area.
• Assisting in banding and securing finished trusses for shipment and ensuring bundles are stable.
• Moving lumber carts and assisting forklift operators during off-loading.
• Checking emergency stop functionality and safety checklists at shift start.
• Maintaining a clean, safe work environment and following safety procedures.
• Reviewing production paperwork to ensure correct sheathing, nailing, and banding specifications.
