Carter Lumber in Michigan is hiring for a truss fabrication position in our manufacturing facility. You will work with a team to build roof trusses from lumber and metal plates, following design specifications and startup checklists.

Starting your day with equipment checks, you and the crew set up the building table framework, place lumber pieces, join them with plates, and run the roller to secure connections. A final quality check ensures accuracy before the next truss.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Capacity to perform repetitive work at a steady pace.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wooden trusses following design specs.
• Set up framework on building table and place lumber pieces.
• Join pieces with metal plates and ensure quality checks.
• Operate a roller to flatten plates as required.
