Job description

Company: EWU Media

Employment Type: Contract (30+ hrs/week)

Compensation: $25–$35/hr

EWU Media produces emotionally gripping, high-intensity true-crime scripts based on real police bodycam footage, 911 calls, interrogations, and investigative materials. Our content reaches millions across multiple platforms, and we are expanding our elite writing team.

We’re seeking native-level U.S. storytellers who can turn raw law-enforcement footage into compelling, cinematic documentary narration.

To apply, please complete the following steps:
  • Apply through LinkedIn for the position.
2. Create a Script Sample
  • Go to YouTube and select any raw police body camera footage of your choice.
  • Write a 1–2 page script sample based on that footage.
  • Your script must include:
  • Clear timestamps that correspond to moments in the body cam footage
  • Voiceover / narration showing how you would tell the story over the video
  • The script does not need to be complete. This is only to demonstrate how you structure narration and integrate footage with storytelling.
  • Email your script sample (PDF or Google Doc preferred) to:
  • aimee@ewumedia.com
  • Include your name and LinkedIn application in the email.
4. Review Process
  • We will review all submitted samples.
  • If your sample is a good fit, we will reach out with next steps in the hiring process.
What You’ll Do
  • Write documentary-style scripts from real footage and source materials
  • Build suspenseful, scene-by-scene narratives
  • Explain timelines, decisions, and legal outcomes clearly
  • Deliver 100% human-written, emotionally precise storytelling

This is not AI-assisted writing.
