Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is looking for a Trailer Washer to support daily plant operations and cleaning tasks in our Virginia facility.

The role involves learning and performing routine duties under supervision, adhering to CGMP policies, and assisting with various projects as needed. Applicants should be able to work nights and weekends, follow written and oral instructions, and demonstrate basic housekeeping and equipment handling skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to accurately follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic knowledge of general housekeeping and sanitation procedures.
• General mechanical aptitude.
• Demonstrate good working knowledge of industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist daily CGMP logs and plant operations.
• Support the Production Supervisor and other personnel on duties or projects.
• Follow plant CGMP policies and safety rules.
• Train with plant personnel on PMs and daily activities.
• Learn to operate and park tractor/trailer equipment in wash bay.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and observe safety protocols.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in Safety Committee if required.

Job Description

The Trailer Washer performs routing cleaning and helps in the plant daily operations under management supervision.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Assists in the daily logs that are kept for CGMP's
• Assists the Production Supervisor and/or other personnel on special job duties or projects
• Follows plant CGMP policies
• Trains with other plant personnel on PM's and daily work activities
• Trains on the plant equipment to include the forklift and boom lifts
• Trains on driving tractor/trailer equipment and parking in wash bay
• Maintains clean, neat and orderly work areas at all times
• Responsible for using assigned safety equipment including a hard hat, safety goggles, ear plugs and responsible for being familiar with and observing all company safety rules and regulations
• Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

• Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet, dry, dusty and/or slippery floors and high heat or cold temperatures.
