Job summary

SHAMROCK TRUCK EQUIPMENT INC in Alexis, OH is seeking a Commercial Vehicle Technician who will perform vehicle upfitting and mechanical service on commercial trucks and vans. You will install aftermarket equipment according to specs and ensure safe, reliable redeployment or delivery.

You’ll read wiring diagrams, diagnose problems with diagnostic tools, perform routine maintenance, and document work performed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in automotive technology is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of automotive repair and maintenance experience, preferably with trucks.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Upfitting & Equipment Installation: install aftermarket equipment including bodies, racks, toolboxes, electrical components, lighting and specialty equipment.
• Read and interpret build sheets, wiring diagrams, and technical instructions; verify proper installation and secure mounting.
• Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: perform routine maintenance, diagnose and replace worn components, and communicate findings to supervisors.
• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical/electrical issues and verify repairs with tests.
• Safety & Compliance: follow PPE, shop policies, OEM guidelines, and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Teamwork & Improvement: collaborate with teams and support training; assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
