Job summary

Meijer in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a Food Clerk to help create a fresh, welcoming store experience across Fresh departments.

You will build positive connections with customers, share product knowledge, maintain displays, stock and merchandise, use technology to complete tasks, and follow safety procedures. Ability to stand and stay active is required, with prior retail or food service experience helpful but not required.

What You’ll Do

As a Food Clerk, you play a key role in creating a fresh, welcoming, and well‑run store experience within our Fresh departments.

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
