Job summary

Merrill Steel is seeking an experienced Technician to join our team. With over five years of experience, you will maintain our fleet and perform general repairs on vehicles and flatbed trailers on a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.

You will operate cranes and forklifts, change tires/brakes/oil, and perform preventative maintenance while keeping detailed records. Knowledge of OSHA/DOT rules and safe repair practices is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to change/repair tires, brakes, and perform oil changes.
• Strong focus on preventative maintenance and keeping records up to date.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and DOT requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of non-diesel vehicle and forklift repairs.
• Experience building and maintaining specialty trailers.

Responsibilities

• Complete general repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and flatbed trailers.
• Operate cranes and forklifts as needed.
• Order parts and obtain quotes for maintenance work.
